  1. I completely agree with Arus's point of view. Roger Chillingworth's revenge was his way of expressing the pain he felt after finding out his wife cheated on him. It was the only normal thing a human could do after feeling such anger. Now the extreme measures he took are another story, but in his case they are completely understandable. Great job in expressing your opinion!

  2. Even though I believe Dimmesdale has suffered much more than Chillingworth, Arus made a good point. She discusses how Dimmesdale's actions were completely wrong and selfish towards a married woman. He should suffer the consequence and speak the truth. Both men have done a selfish act, and deserve the life, in which they were miserable. Great vlog, Arus!

  3. I myself believe that Chillingworth did not actually do anything wrong. Even though his reaction with the situation at hand was a bit extreme, I do not blame him. Adultery was not common in the Puritan society and especially in the settlement in Boston, and Roger Chillingworth did not really know what to do. His angst and crave for revenge is understandable.

  4. Although I personally believe that both individuals were culprits in their unique ways, Arus made excellent points to sympathize with Chillingworth. He in fact started off as the victim of the story. After years of anticipating to return to his so called "faithful" wife, he comes home to a child that is not even his. Arus went into depth behind the true causes of Chillingworth's actions. His evil and revenge came out from the love he had for Hester. He was only being a jealous yet caring husband. Great analysis!
